Solid lubricants

Solid lubricants are materials which are able to reduce friction between two surfaces sliding against each other when a liquid media is unable to do it.

Solid lubricants are used for the lubrication at high temperatures when liquid and oil-based lubricants can not operate. These lubricants are often found in oxidizing environments.
